Along with textile designs Irena Gohbanov also creates graphics and paintings that vary from realistic (landscapes, still life and portraits) to figurative and abstract. Her realistic works are always done on location or using a real model to express the spirit of people, places and objects. Prior to beginning her work on a graphics or a painting Irena sometimes visits the location where it is going to be displayed to achieve the perfect harmony between the art work and the interior.

Irena employs various techniques, often combining them. She uses Indian ink, pastel, sanguine, charcoal, and watercolors to create graphics on paper. She also enjoys painting on canvas with acrylics, oil by palette knife and brushes.
